Bringing
It All Together

About CNNH

Our Mission

The Center for Neurological and Neurodevelopmental Health (CNNH) was born out of a vision to bring together a compassionate multidisciplinary team of experts in neurological, neuropsychological, and neurobehavioral care all under one roof….with a constant dedication to the highest standards of care. Our experts view problems and issues from many different angles and can provide the most extensive, innovative evidence-based evaluations and treatments. This approach leads to definitive diagnoses and optimal treatment strategies…. and more successful outcomes for the children and families we serve.

CNNH helps families untangle the whole puzzle with comprehensive, compassionate and quality care, an accurate diagnosis and the right treatment.

Our mission at CNNH is to help families untangle this puzzle with comprehensive, multi-disciplinary, state of the art diagnostic intervention so an accurate diagnosis can be established and right treatment options can be recommended and provided.

Who We Are

The Center for Neurological and Neurodevelopmental Health (CNNH) and the Clinical Research Center of New Jersey (CRCNJ) are integrated organizations providing comprehensive and multidisciplinary evaluation and treatment services and access to clinical research for infants, children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental disabilities, neurobehavioral and neuropsychiatric disorders, brain injury and other neurological problems. Additionally, CNNH has helped create and provides in-kind support to Neurabilities, an independent non-profit organization. Led by Mark Mintz, M.D., CNNH has at its core neurological and neuropsychological diagnostic and treatment services together with related and integrated assessment and therapeutic programs including Applied Behavioral Analysis, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, peer-mediated (and LEGO®-based) Social Development Therapy, Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) testing, Psychoeducational evaluations and remediation, Creative Arts in Therapy including Music Therapy and Integrated Movement Therapy, and collaborative access to Speech and Language, Occupational and Physical Therapies.

CNNH, with the assistance and support of Neurabilities, has been named an Autism Clinical Enhancement Center through a grant from the New Jersey Governor's Council for Medical Research and Treatment of Autism. We assist families affected by autism in pursuing evidence-based and pragmatic approaches for treatment interventions. Through an innovative “Principal/Specialty Care Medical Home Model”, CNNH provides a comprehensive array of assessment, treatment and support services for those affected by Autism Spectrum Disorders in the office, school, home and community environments. At CNNH, it is our philosophy to understand underlying biological mechanisms for the symptoms and manifestations of Autism Spectrum Disorders and other neurobehavioral disorders and neurodevelopmental disabilities. Such “disease management” and “personalized medical care” approaches allow for improved and targeted medical and behavioral therapeutic strategies, resulting in improved clinical outcomes and quality of life for individuals and their families.

Through our academic appointments, research collaborations, clinical activities, and teaching/mentoring, CNNH and our professionals have been/are affiliated or associated with the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ); International Down Syndrome Consortium; National Institutes of Health; Institute for Basic Research; University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine; Drexel University; Rowan University; La Salle University; Cambridge University of the United Kingdom; and McMaster University of Canada. We also provide evaluations for the Child Study Teams of over 35 school districts, and many county Care Management Organizations; various Early Intervention Programs; private Specialized Schools and Residential Facilities; and New Jersey and national governmental and private agencies and organizations.

At CNNH, we utilize the latest in advanced technologies for assessing brain function in a non-invasive fashion. We house the region’s only dense-array electroencephalography (EEG) machine for out-patient clinical use and also utilize computerized screening assessments of cognition, attention and vigilance (Mindstreams® and Quotient™ ADHD System.) CRCNJ has been very active in a wide array and number of clinical trials and other research for Neurobehavioral/Neuropsychiatric Disorders, Epilepsy, Autism, Down Syndrome, Cognition/Memory, Sleep Disorders, and Quality of Life.
